The Montana Innovation Partnership powered by TechLink offers training and workshops to help Montana’s tech entrepreneurs learn about SBIR/STTR programs, intellectual property, market research high-tech innovations, and how to prepare well-crafted and persuasive SBIR/STTR proposals.

SBIR Cost Proposals and Government Accounting

In this interactive course led by Jim Greenwood, we demystify SBIR budgets and review how to keep records to the government’s satisfaction when you win an SBIR award.

NSF SBIR/STTR Phase I Proposal Lab

In this multi-session course, we’ll help you break down your preparation schedule, focus on the expectations, write a clear, compelling project scope and commercial plan, develop an accurate, allowable budget, and more.

NIH SBIR/STTR Phase I Proposal Lab

Our 6-week, 6 class NIH Phase I proposal preparation bootcamp is designed for researchers and small businesses actively planning to submit to a near-term NIH deadline. Participants will be instructed on all aspects of preparing a competitive NIH Phase I proposal. Invited guest lecturers include SBIR/STTR awardees, reviewers, and NIH SBIR program managers. Follow-on counseling and proposal reviews will be provided by MTIP consultants and partners.

Market Research for early-stage technology researchers and inventors

Our half-day market research workshops are led by Ed Kase. These workshops help early-stage technology researchers prepare and validate a strong business case for their innovation in preparation to submit competitive proposals for federal funding like the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
